FAQs
What time do I drop them off?
Registration is 4-5pm, a parent or guardian must be present when leaving kids off. We will not accept any arrivals prior to 4pm on the Monday of the allocated week.
What time do I pick up my kids?
10:00am on Saturday morning.
What is camp?
A great opportunity for kids and young people to have fun and learning experiences during the long hot summer months here in the Algarve, mixing with kids & young people and taking part in events, arts & craft, games and loads of exciting activities all managed and supervised by our experienced leaders.
Who looks after my young people?
Our leaders are all age 18 and over and have been put through an application process by our team. They come from all over Europe and are experienced in working with kids and young people through the ministries in which they are involved in their own host country.
What do they eat?
We try and stay as healthy as we can with water, salad, & fruit at every lunch and dinner which we provide. During their time with us we try and cook foods that everyone will enjoy so lots of BBQs, pasta bakes, chicken dishes and so much more we promise they will never go hungry.
I have a group I would like to take to camp, how do I do this?
Easy just apply online the way you would with any other kid or youth or simply download a form for each person coming to camp. There are questions on our application forms that help us to know who’s with who so we can put them together in small groups, teams, & sleeping arrangements.
Things to bring?
Sleeping bag and pillow, personal washing bag, & towel, beach towel & sun cream, clothes (shorts, t-shirts, swimming gear etc) also a hoodie just incase it gets a bit cold at night. We also have a sweet shop on site so some extra money to treat themselves during the week.
Please be advised we don’t encourage kids or youth to bring phones, iPads and expensive objects as we can’t be accountable if they are lost or damaged.
Can I pick my kids up at night?
We offer a ‘Day Camper’ option for week 1 and you are more than welcome to pick your kids up in the evening and drop them off in the mornings, as a day camp within the allocated time slots. The price, however, stays the same and you must whatsapp our CSP phone number when you are picking them up and leaving them off to meet at the gate so that they can be accounted for.
What are the prices of the camp?
The price of Camp Sonshine Portugal is €160 per camper per week. This includes all food, beverages, transportation, entrances to activities and maintenance of the camp site.
Can my kid share with their friends?
Yes we can accommodate sharing with maximum of 2 friends, this detail is required during your application to ensure we can allocate in advance. If this is not in your application form we may be unable to allocate, but will try our best.
Do my kids need money?
We operate a small Tuck Shop on site, you may purchase a Tuck Shop card upon registration at camp so campers do not have cash during camp. This works as a pre loaded card with their name. They simply go to the Tuck Shop, say their name and place their order which is deducted from their balance.
